Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways, has inaugurated a new route from Abu Dhabi to Jaipur, India.  The new service offers four direct flights per week, making it easier for travellers to experience the rich tapestry of Jaipur, a renowned cultural treasure in India. 

The new route was announced in a grand ceremony held at Jaipur International Airport.  "We are thrilled to commence four weekly flights to Jaipur, a significant cultural and commercial center," said Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves.

Expanding Indian market

The airline has increased its capacity to India by a third over the past year, catering to the growing demand from travellers in the region. Passengers will benefit from convenient access to Abu Dhabi and Dubai and seamless connections to Etihad's extensive global network.

Etihad promises a remarkable flying experience on this new route, operated using modern Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Etihad registers strong passenger growth

Beyond the new route, Etihad Airways has other reasons to celebrate. The airline successfully transported 1.5 million passengers in May 2024, boasting an impressive average passenger load factor of 84 percent. This positive momentum extends throughout the year, with a year-to-date passenger count reaching 7.2 million. This marks a significant 38 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Notably, Etihad has managed to maintain a healthy year-to-date load factor of 85 percent despite a considerable increase in capacity compared to last year. These figures highlight the airline's strong positive growth trajectory.
